Moderne French Bistro Fare - with a Canadian Accent
Here at db Bistro Moderne, two exciting culinary traditions embrace at the creative hands of celebrated Chef Daniel Boulud and Chef de Cuisine Stephane Istel. Traditional French cooking, and the bright flavours of the Pacific Northwest define a critically-acclaimed seasonal menu and uptown casual setting.

Sharing a magnificent wine cellar, Boulud's French sensibilities, and management with its très chic sister restaurant Lumière, db Bistro Moderne is an up-tempo, contemporary urban French Bistro and Bar. Open for lunch, brunch, dinner and avant et après cocktails. Use the pull-down menus above or menu tabs on the right to review current bar, brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert menus. db Bistro offers a selection of seasonal specials daily, with suggested paired wines by the glass.
During patio season, all menus are offered on the patio, and the bar food menu is offered outside all afternoon, between scheduled lunch and dinner service.
Special Dietary Requirements
Chef Stephane Istel is happy to accommodate all dietary requirements and, as a db Bistro Moderne New York and Feast & Fetes Catering veteran, he is particularly skilled at meeting any dietary challenge. Simply advise your server upon arrival, or, if booking your reservation online, please leave a note for us there so we can advise Chef. Children and Youth Menu
Children and Youth Menu items are offered fresh daily, upon request, on an individualized and age-appropriate basis to suit the taste preferences of our younger customers. With few exceptions, dishes are offered on a cost and portion-size reduced basis. Chef Istel and his team are happy to create nutritious and delicious mini menus that showcase fresh, seasonal ingredients and respect developing palates.
Young foodies love Chef's mini Crudité starter, and smaller portions of pastas like Cavatelli or Tortellini, the Pomme Frites, and the warm and creamy Chicken Grand Mere. And for brunch, the fussiest of young ones covet Chef's Brioche French Toast with warm maple syrup and roasted pear, the Belgian Waffle with fresh berry compote and real whipped cream, and the Fresh Fruit Parfaits with honeyed granola and seasonal berries. Bottomless house-made iced tea with tiny jugs of citrus, mint or simple syrup on the side are especially popular with children.
