Connection between Engine and Throne
Speakon NL2 to Speakon NL2

* The BumChum is a two unit system consisting of a custom designed and built throne top containing a Tactile Generator, and a full flightcased "Engine" containing all of the electronics: - Amp, preamp, inputs and outputs (mic and line), protection circuitry, and volume and tone controls. The case also has internal space for ALL the relevant leads.

* It is an ampilfied Tactile Generator Monitor System which turns the bass drum(s) - or any other signal for that matter - into a physical thump up through the drum stool. This thump is registered through bone conduction, which is a big part of how low frequencies are heard anyway.

* We use the highest quality and most efficient Tactile Generators available, which have been road proven by many top drummers, as well as by the US miltary in their simulators.

* The BumChum Throne is an all-in-one unit containing the Tactile Generator, and a speakon output socket. The handmade throne top is extremely solid and elegantly constructed, and is covered in black velvet with a silk BumChum logo! It is designed to accommodate 7/8 diameter throne bases as used by DW, Gibraltar, Roc N Soc, Yamaha, Custom Percussion, and others. Other sizes are available on request. The throne uses 2 wing bolts instead of the usual 1 to secure it to the leg assembly. This provides unparalleled stabilityvand security.

* As well as the current round throne, a motorcycle/tractor style throne will very soon be available.

* The custom designed and handmade BumChum "Engine" Flightcase unit is a thing of beauty and solidity. The front panel is made of gloriously green (stained, NOT painted) aluminium, which supports all of the controls and electronics, including the stunning Vacuum Micro Tube array.

* You have full control of power and intensity immediately at your side.

* The system is 100% consistent, night after night, completely irrelevant of acoustics, room size, etc.

* The BumChum is very sensitive, so will faithfully replicate all of your playing dynamics.

* It will respond to long notes (beater off) as well as short notes (beater on), depending on drum dampening, tuning, and playing style.

* It will TRANSFORM your playing experience. Your groove will be stronger than ever.

* The BumChum unit is incredibly compact and efficient. It needs under 150W to drive it as opposed to around 1200W required by a well known competitor. AND the BumChum is CONSIDERABLY more powerful.

* The flightcase lid will accommodate ALL of the relevant leads (speakon, power), which are of course supplied.

* The throne is only a little deeper than any regular throne top.

* The whole system takes well under 2 mins to rig up. Open the flightcase, plug in the bass drum mic directly (or line from the monitor desk), connect the power lead, connect the throne to the box, switch on. That’s it.

* And here is the BIG advantage for fully amplified gigs where IEMs (In Ear Monitors) are NOT used: No bass drum(s) thumping through big monitor subs to pollute the stage sound. This means that the kit can be miked up more ambiently if required, and the sound engineer hasn’t got to roll all the heavy bottom off the other mics. The toms can now breathe properly.

* Fantastic for MIDI kits: Real power, NO VOLUME for practising, and you’ll lose that disconnected feeling.

* Of course if you use IEMs, you’ll need onevanyway.

* Cheaper tour/stage spec: No subs required for the drummer.

* Whereas most wedges don’t cut it for the bass drum, they are fine for bass guitar (and of course all the other instruments and voices). The bass guitar sound can now come through your monitor crystal clear without having to compete with the bass drum.

* The flightcased Engine unit itself is VERY cute and chunky at the same time. See the photos for size.

* It is rock solid: No need to be nervous about dickhead airport handlers or dodgy gear loads in the back of a Transit.
