about

On April 11, we need you to join us in Olympia to show our elected officials that climate change is an urgent issue, and that young people are demanding action now. We are the generations most impacted by climate change, and we will soon make up the largest voting demographic in the United States’ electorate. Lets show our lawmakers our power by coming together and asking that they fight for an equitable transition to a clean energy economy.

We’ll spend the day advocating for climate justice while having fun getting to know other passionate young people over great food, conversation, and speakers.

This day will be led by youth (25 and under) but all are welcome! For questions about accessibility or to request accommodations please contact Emily Martin by calling (651) 757-8775 or by emailing emily@ourclimate.us. Two weeks advance notice of need for accommodations is requested.

Centering equity

Climate Justice is Youth Justice.

We believe that those who are on the frontlines of any movement lead that movement. On the frontlines of climate change are Indigenous people, People of Color, youth, low-income communities, queer and trans people, and people of marginalized faiths. In our youth movement to combat climate change, we uplift the youth voices of these communities. Youth leadership is transformational and visionary. Intersectional movement building is the only way we can achieve collective liberation because working together on intersecting issues will unify communities who wish to join our struggle for a safe and healthy future for all.

Submit a letter to your elected official

Whether or not you can to come to lobby day, submit a letter to your elected official explaining who you are and why you’re urging them to act boldly on climate! Personal stories about how climate change has impacted you or your community work best. These will be printed and hand-delivered to lawmakers.
