Fedor Emelianenko lost a fight this weekend (11.17.08) . Sort of. Competing in the World Combat Sambo Championships, Fedor lost on points (8-5) in the semi-finals to Bulgarian Blagoi Ivanov, who went on to win the gold medal. Fedor won the bronze after his opponent in the third-place match conceded without a fight.

No way is winning a bronze medal losing, if he had lost early in the contest then maybe but getting a medal is an accomplishment on its own. Good luck Fedor.

people just want a reason to say this guys isnt as good as he is. its a strictly sambo competiton go look it up its not the same as mma. thats why he crushes guys in mma cause he has sambo on top of other abilities. come on lets get real what mma fighter can beat him in a sambo competion. you'd have to look around pretty hard to find a guy outside of arlowski. its a russing sport pretty much
