According to multiple reports, veteran middleweight Denis Kang has been released from his UFC contract following his second-round TKO loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 105,
officially making him the UFC's Biggest Bust of 2009. Once considered a
top-ten middleweight due to his impressive performances in PRIDE and
Spirit MC — including an epic 23-fight stretch in 2003-2006 where he
didn't lose a single match — Kang has now lost five of his last nine
attempts, including two out of three in the UFC.
Other recent UFC firings include...
Roli Delgado: The TUF 8
vet submitted John Polakowski in his official UFC debut, but then lost
back-to-back contests against Paul Kelly and Andre Winner (at UFC 105),
dropping his UFC record to 1-2.
Jason Dent: His armbar loss to George Sotiropoulos at UFC 106 gave the TUF 9 castmember an overall Octagon record of 1-3, and made him a two-time UFC castoff.
Brock Larson:
The former WEC standout entered the UFC with back-to-back first-round
submissions over Jesse Sanders and Mike Pyle, but then lost consecutive
fights to Mike Pierce and Brian Foster (at UFC 106).
