All about that park life

Oh I do love a little park trip.
We try to get outdoors as much as possible, and this can include simply going to our local park.

Some of my best childhood memories are from playing outdoors and specifically the park. One that really stands out is Higginson Park in Marlow, Bucks, which is the town my Granddad lived, and we would visit the park every time we went to see him. It was pure happiness for a kid. And that's what I want for Henry as much as possible.

This trip in particular was one Friday night after I had finished work. We grabbed ice creams and played in the park for about half an hour. It's afternoons like this that make parenting so much fun, and being a working mum so worthwhile.

It wasn't the easiest decision to return to work, and I was so sad when my years maternity leave finally came to an end, but I do think it was absolutely the best decision for our family.
Henry adores nursery, and they love him too. He's learning so much there and his social skills are coming on leaps and bounds which I have to credit them for.

Coming home each day to this smiley little face and getting those last couple of hours with him before bedtime are some of the best times. Even our mornings are pretty fun with bus cuddles, despite drop off time still being really hard as he sometimes gets a little tearful. However his key worker is getting very good at distracting him as soon as we arrive so the tears are lessening which is much easier on this mamas heart!

Being a working mum is hard, it's tiring, and sometimes it is down right heartbreaking, but it is 100% the best thing for us right now. And the park trips really do help. Also Henry's hair in that last photo is EVERYTHING!!!

  9. I know it must be hard leaving you children at nursery. I used to work in nurseries and I'm a nanny now. But 9/10 times the children would stop crying within a couple of minutes and some would only do it to try and make their parents feel guilty! It's great that Henry has a great relationship with his key person and is happy at his setting. I feel like this is the most important thing! Second that they thrive in their nursery which sounds like Henry is :)
